Hi there,
I am a tuck slider where I raise the back of his foot while I slide out towards the broom. My slider is a brick slider. Recently it has been scratching the ice. My shoes are fairly old and probably need to be replaced. However, I am wondering if there is anything I can do to possibly round out some of the rough edges on my slider. I talked to a couple people at my local club and they believe that I can use medium gritt sandpaper to smooth it out. Then follow it up with a high gritt sandpaper to make it smooth. What do you guys think about this idea and does anyone have any tips or tricks I can use?
Thanks, Cam.

I had the same problem. I used a medium grit sandpaper and then a wire wheel. You need to bend your shoe like it is when you're tucked to get at the problem brick segment.
Depends on which part of your sole is scraping the ice.
It maybe that your stance has changed and the edge of the bars are touching the ice. Try a "Flat footed" delivery and if there is no scratched ice then you'll need to spend time with the Coach. No amount of sandpaper will cure a shoe sole that is not flat onto the ice surface. Your heel lift may not be relevant at all
