time for ice prep

i am interested to hear from other icemakers and their comments about ice prep times .
how much time do you feel is necessary for ice prep for a curling game.
how much time for a full scrape clean up and pebble
how much time for a draw change eg. sweep, hand scrape spots, pebble and nip
how much time to prepare a sheet after a flood
thanks
randy

from start to finish i can have a sheet shaved with an 8 pass cleaned, double pebbled and nipped in fifteen minutes,
if you get two guys who woork good together they can cut down the time but to do a real decent job, ie looking after the walk ways ledges garbages klenex ect, with two guys you need half an hour for every two sheets at min 25 minutes.
as for draw change again with two good guys you need 15 minutes at least for 6 sheets and that is saying they get off on time.
after a flood we spend 8 hours on 8 shheets and its perfect.

Shurek and I did six sheets after a flood in less than four hours and ready for the best field ever to hit the ice. We don't screw around. Much...

I can usually do 8 sheets in 15-20min with myself and a helper if we can do them in pairs, saves alot of trips up and down and across getting the nipper, brooms, etc. We can scrape 8 in a 1.5hrs if we are in a hurry and 2hrs if we do windows, carpets, etc. 3hrs if the schools take a few hacks out :( After a flood I usually do that myself and can do it in about 5-6hrs depending on when the ice needs to be ready by.

Same old problem here. You all are saying how fast you can do it to some person who comes on here wanting info. All we know as Ice tech's he is taking this back to his boardroom to discuss this about their ice tech at thier club and saying he should be doing it faster becuase someone on this sight said so! As we do this job through the years you get better and know where to do what and when. A new guy might take twice as long.
If you can do it that fast I would like to see how good the ice is!!
Now shiver that is a bit different as your blade is already cooled down and everything is right their. Come to my club and you need to take the blade out to cool and walk a mile for the other tools. Things all don't add up to what everyone thinks they do.
Board members feed for this info....how long does it take you to get a sheet ready. As long as it takes!!

Generally I can scrape/pebble/nip 4 sheets, grab the garbages and kleenex in about 45 minutes. I usually give myself an hour to be safe though.

Just for a pebble/nip 10 minutes is enough (for four sheets).

Preparing a sheet after a flood can depend on how well the resurfacing went and how much help you have.
