Today is the last day to apply for Curling Idol 2, so get your applications in now if your team needs a sponsor for the upcoming curling season. Already we've had a ton of great applications from all sorts of great teams. Many players have played in National and World Championships, including last year's Scott Tournament of Hearts, Karcher Juniors and World Junior Curling Championships.
The finalists will be posted to this site this weekend, and voting will begin on Monday, September 19th. The voting period will last until Friday, September 30th at 11:59 PM ET. The winning team will be announced first thing on Monday morning, October 3rd. Unlike last year, the number of votes for each team will not be shown during the voting process. (That should make the announcement a bit more exciting!)
This year's winning team will receive 4 pairs of shoes and brooms from BalancePlus, as well as 4 pairs of mitts or gloves from InTheHack. As well, there is a growing pot of cash that the winning team will be given. The total right now stands at only $120, but is growing daily. $10 from the sale of each pair of gloves or mitts will be donated to one of the five finalists for Curling Idol. If no team is specified, then the money will default to the Curling Idols for this year. When you purchase mitts or gloves from InTheHack, you can specify which team will receive the money.
